Alba Roses

The roses of this group date almost certainly to the Middle Ages. Their origin is uncertain, since recent studies seem to have R. Villosa and R. Gallica as parents and not R. Canina and a Rose Damascene as it was established in 1920 by researcher Hurst. Few other roses can compete with Dawn for the beauty and quality of their perfume. They are large shrubs and were called for this reason ” Tree Rose ”, Rose Tree. Their color goes from pure white to pink incarnate that contrasts with the green foliage green creating a truly amazing effect. Alba roses are very resistant to cold and are also suitable for semi-shade cultivation. They require light pruning and are very resistant to disease. They are suitable for the last row of edges, in group to create large shrubs or to use as small climbers.
